|Nurses Must Be Proactive During Doctors Strike In Order To Regain Public Respect by Peter(m): Fri Aug 2021 01:06pm|
GREAT NURSES !!!
Greetings to you all
Nursings profession is a profession that is cultured to provide comfort to both the sick and well individual *independently*
NARD strike has rendered the hospital environment silent and make it seem that Doctors are Heart of the hospital environment and surprisely we Nurses sales such believe to the community which should not be so
We are all licensed Nursing personnel in our different specialty who heard received formal training and skills to handle a peculiar challenges for example an A&E Nurse is train to attend to an emergency cases and also rendered first aid care to a patient rushed to the unit with browzes, punture wounds( stepping on nail) and the like , it will be wrong for the Nurse on duty without accessing or rendering first service to the patient and strt to tell the patient or patient relation that Doctors are strike.
A midwife is train and license to conduct labour and reffer when necessary what is happening to us.
An ENT Nurse should be able to remove foreign body in the ear and likes
An opthalmic Nurse should be able to advice on haemorrhagic conjuctivitis and so on
An Anaesthetist should be able to intubate patient in emergency condition wen the need arises
An orthopedic Nurse should be able to reduce a fracture leg and reffer to an appropriate facility
It will be wrong for a Nurse in the ward not to have served iv drugs bcx iv access is not in place and tell the patients that sorry I can't serve ur drug bcx ur lv access is blocked or removed and Doctors are on strike and no body is around to put it back .
It is a form of Negligence for very weak baby who can't feed her or himself to be kept no NG tube for feeding bcx Drs are on strike ( A Nurse can be sue for that)
Remember our colleagues in General hospital whom we received same training with are doing it well
This is a time to show how competent we are and that without Doctors hospital can still work
I want Use a high pitch voice to call on our dearest Nurses in Nigeria not to be lazy and lets redeem the name of Nursing profession in this country and the time is now
