|The WHO Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025 by Peter(m): Tue Sep 2021 07:02pm|
The 74th World Health Assembly (May 2021) was a significant one for nursing and midwifery. For the first time, Member States of the World Health Organization considered the WHO Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery (SDNM 2021-2025) and adopted it with a Resolution (WHA74.15). This was the first Resolution focused on nursing and midwifery in ten years.
The 12 policy priorities in the SDNM 2021-2025 reflect findings from the State of the World’s Nursing 2020 and State of the World’s Midwifery 2021. Like these two reports, the SDNM 2021-2025 and WHA74.15 are key developments from the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. They provide an exciting new global mandate for nursing and midwifery.
Please check the SDNM 2021-2025 webpage for versions in Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish (posted on a rolling basis beginning in late September.)
