*The visit comes days before Kenya sends the first cohort of nurses to the UK
*It is also meant to explore ways of strengthening the health system back in Kenya
*Kenyan nurses are expected to help UK address its shortage of nurses, amounting to 62,000

Kenya's Health Principal Secretary (PS) Susan Mochache is currently in London, United Kingdom, to initiate implementation of the Kenya-UK Health Workforce Collaboration.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the PS is in the company of officials from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Council of Governors and the Nursing Council of Kenya.


The visit comes days before Kenya sends the first cohort of nurses to the UK.

The ministry said the purpose of the visit is to discuss key issues including terms, conditions and welfare of Kenyan migrant workers.
