|Shortage of Nurses: UK Nursing Board Increase OSCE Centres for Overseas Nurses by Peculiar005(m): Tue Oct 2021 09:38pm|
The Nursing and Midwifery Council UK has increased the number of OSCE test centres for overseas Nurses from three to five Nursesarena can confirm. This was announced today in NMC Newsletters sent out to Nurses in the UK. Below is the copy of the Newsletter sent out:
Number of OSCE test providers to increase to five
We are pleased to announce that we have awarded contracts to five partners to deliver the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) part of our ToC from February 2022 onwards.
In addition to renewing our contracts with our current OSCE delivery partners – Oxford Brookes University, the University of Northampton and Ulster University – we have awarded contracts to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northumbria University. This follows a competitive and open bidding process across all four countries of the UK.
By increasing the number of test sites we have increased capacity and improved accessibility for those taking the OSCE. This will support us in meeting demand and to get those professionals with the right skills and knowledge on our register as safely and quickly as possible.
Candidates will be able to book their tests from December, and further information on how to do this will be shared at that time.
Supporting materials for Nursing Associate Test of Competence
We can also share that on 29 October, we will be publishing supporting materials for the new ToC for nursing associates, which goes live in January 2022.
We will follow up with further details on the supporting materials on 29 October, with additional information to be published on our website.
With best wishes,
